This project involved 15 upper primary students from the Port Curtis area who wrote and illustrated a series of stories which examined the impact of industry on both landscape and culture in Gladstone. The project was part or the Curtis Coast Literacy Carnivals which is held each year here in Gladstone. I conducted a series of workshops over a period of 3 weeks with the children and we also toured the RG Tanna Coal Terminal. Each student wrote and illustrated their own story which where then combined and published. The original works where also professionally framed and exhibited at the Brisbane Writers Festival at the State Library of Queensland. This work then toured central Queensland.
